I’ve expressed this before but I can’t say it enough:
To me, food is as a vehicle to consume condiments. And one of my favorite ways to do that?
I love me a fry. Thick cut steak fries, hand cut, wedges, waffle, curly, sweet potato- I’ve rarely met a fry I don’t like. But for me, traditional fries live in the “20” category of the whole 80/20 thing.
But! I still have the urge to dip dip dip. So carrot fries have been my new go to as of late.
These are super easy & delicious and dipped in a healthy ranch, ketchup or BBQ (or if you’re me, all of the above) you can get your fry fix even when you’re living that clean “80” life! (Now let’s not get all crazy here they don’t actually taste like french fries, just like zucchini noodles don’t taste like real noodles, BUT you get the essence of it and I promise they are really satisfying!)
These are the perfect side dish for dinner or yummy snack!! And they are gluten free, grain free, dairy free, soy free, refined sugar free, and vegan! But of course- not delicious free!
Roasted Tumeric Carrot Fries
What you need:
- 2 large bunches of carrots (you can use rainbow if you want!)
- 1 tbsp avocado oil
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp tumeric
- 1 tsp sea salt
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- Wash and cut carrots to desired size and thickness (I usually cut each carrot in three pieces and then slice down the middle!)
- Combine oil and seasonings in a bowl and toss mixture over carrots. Roast in the oven at 425 for 35-45 minutes flipping once halfway through until they are to desired brownies!
- Serve with Primal Kitchens Ranch and/or Steve’s Paleo Goods Peach BBQ sauce!
